The Law of Attraction (LOA) is based on the fact that you attract into your life whatever vibration you are sending out into the world.
There have been numerous studies proving it works. Click here to see an infographic of 3 studies. Dawson Church’s book Mind to Matter shows that the Law of Attraction isn’t just a metaphysical proposition, it’s a scientific reality.
Just like gravity, the Law of Attraction is always in effect. It’s influencing your life every moment of the day. You are attracting things into your life with every thought and feeling whether you are doing it consciously or unconsciously. It never stops, you are always in a state of attraction.
My favorite teacher of the LOA is Abraham Hicks. There are many teachers explaining how to use the LOA consciously to create your life. I resonate with their message and the way it’s communicated.
The Law of Attraction says we are all emitting a vibration whether we know it or not. That vibration is your point of attraction.
Your thoughts and feelings determine your vibration. Whatever you give your energy and attention to will be attracted into your life. You are attracting things into your reality all day, every day based on what you think and how you feel.
Think of it like this; if you are feeling good, enjoying your life you are sending out a vibration attracting more things into your life that make you feel good. That’s the law.
On the other hand, if you feel angry or afraid, you’ll attract more experiences that create those feelings.
Whatever you are thinking and feeling at any given time is basically your request to the universe for more of the same.
The energy of the universe, through the Law of Attraction, responds to whatever energy you are emitting, giving you more of the same. It does not decide which one is better for you, it gives you back what you put out like a boomerang.
How to Use the Law of Attraction
The good news is you get to choose what you put your attention on, you have free will. You can put your attention on anything you want.
You may be putting your attention on things that make you feel angry, sad, or afraid but with a little focus, you can shift your attention to things that give you a feeling of joy, appreciation, and satisfaction. Both experiences are part of your life. Which one do you want to attract more of?
Once you understand the Law of Attraction and how it works, you realize you can choose to think about the things in your life that make you feel good. You can choose to respond differently to situations that show up.
You can spend more time in the vibration of joy and appreciation. When you do, you’ll attract more ideas, inspiration, events, people, and things that bring joy and abundance.
Your emotions are your guidance system. How you feel is what the Law of Attraction is responding to. It is your point of attraction.
You can use the LOA to create better health, more money, better relationships, a better life. That sounds good, right?
For example, if you want to have more abundance in your life put your attention on the abundance around you. Focus on the abundance of fresh air, water, sunlight, trees, flowers and feel the energy of abundance. It does not matter what gives you the feeling of abundance, it’s the feeling that you want to experience. As you feel more abundant you’ll be amazed at the wonderful things showing up in your life.
Another example, if you want a better body that is thinner, healthier with more energy, appreciate how amazing your body is right now. It’s breathing, your heart is beating, you’re digesting your last meal. There are thousands of chemical reactions going on all day rebalancing your hormones, keeping you alive without you even asking. Feel what a miracle it is.
You can use the LOA to create a better body by looking for parts of your body you DO like. Maybe it’s your baby toe you really like! Maybe your hair or your eyes. You can appreciate your hands washing the dishes. Put your attention on any parts you genuinely appreciate to get the feeling of how fabulous your body is.
When you appreciate your body, it feels pretty good, right?
The Law of Attraction says as you spend more time in the energy of love and appreciation of your body you’ll attract more of what you need to make your body look and feel even more wonderful.
You’ll be inspired to eat the foods that make your body feel good. You’ll be inspired to do fun movement or exercise. You’ll naturally sleep better. The law of attraction is providing the inspiration to create a better body.
Unfortunately, if you’ve been criticizing your body, feeling unattractive or disappointed in the way you look for a while, that energy has momentum. It requires a bit of practice to shift the momentum.

Whatever your body is like now, even if it’s not as healthy, thin, agile or energized as you would like, know that can change. By using these tools, you can experience more energy, better sleep, a stronger more robust healthy body.
According to Abraham Hicks, what you’re experiencing today is the result of thoughts and emotions you were feeling in the past.
Your new thoughts and feelings may take a bit of time to gain momentum and give you results. Be patient with your new point of attraction.
This is why you want to take what you learn here and use it in your life daily. The good news is you’ll have fun along the way.
I use the acronym AREA to remember the 4 major parts for using the LOA to create consciously.
- Ask for what you want.
- Release resistance and doubt. The reason you’re not getting what you want is there is interference. Releasing allows you to let go of the resistance.
- Expect that what you want is on its way to you. Believing it’s coming opens you up to ideas and inspiration that leads to manifestation.
- Appreciate the journey you are on. You don’t have to wait to get what you want to have fun along the way.

Notes:
- The reason to practice is to gradually shift your energy. You want to believe it CAN and WILL happen.
- The stronger your positive emotion when you imagine your manifestation happening, the faster it will come to you.
- I make a card for each thing I’m trying to create and read/visualize it once or twice a day, to get into the feeling of having what I desire.

Part 1: Notice your self-talk.
Part 2: Love and accept yourself however you are feeling.
Part 3: Notice and Pivot.
- What am I feeling, what is the emotion? Frustration
- Where do I feel it in my body? My jaw
- What is the thought or belief causing this emotion? It’s so hard to get better
- What would the opposite emotion be? Satisfaction
- Where do I feel this opposite emotion in my body? My heart
- What is the thought or belief causing this emotion? There are many things in my day that are satisfying. I can put my attention on them. I trust things are always working out for me.
EXPECT and ENJOY
Part 1: As soon as you wake up each day, proclaim something exciting and wonderful is headed your way today. If you forget, do it as soon as possible.
Part 2: Enjoy your wonderful life right now. Have fun.
APPRECIATE and ALLOW
Appreciation Process
Part 1: Be on the lookout for blessings. Look for things that make you feel good all day long and spend a few seconds experiencing them in every cell of your body.
Part 2: Write or text 3 blessings you appreciate from the day before.
- A friend I hadn’t talked to in a while called and we had a heartwarming talk. It was a wonderful connection.
- I got a fabulous comment on my blog for one of my recipes. It made me feel appreciated.
- Had a delightful walk after dinner with my partner. A lovely way to end the day.
